The University of Roehampton is the only collegiate university in London. Our Colleges contribute to our friendly and welcoming community here at Roehampton.
Much of the events on campus are organised through the Colleges that provide: Social events, Welfare support, Sporting events and more.
During your time at Roehampton, you will be part of Southlands College.
As a pathway student you will join up with Southlands College. Tracing its roots back to 1872, Southlands College is one of four historic Colleges that make up the University of Roehampton – Digby Stuart, Froebel and Whitelands.
Southlands has a rich tradition and is committed to causes of equality, social justice and community engagement. The College today builds on its history by encouraging young people to develop strong values and to grow as future leaders for their communities.
Life at Southlands College
Life at Southlands is friendly and diverse. There is an exciting annual calendar of events, including termly dinners, a fireworks party, music gala dinner, Southlands Shindig (a summer fête) and College boat party. The large social space is a café during the day and each evening transforms into a cinema and hub for student-led events.
Southlands provides a number of leadership development opportunities, including roles on the College Officer Committee and with the Southlands Venture: a volunteering programme which funds student-led projects in the local community.
Their mascot is the Shark and the College sports teams – the ‘Sharks’ and the ‘Sharkettes’ – are a credit to the Roehampton community, succeeding in sport and also running fundraising and campaigning efforts.
Southlands College feels like a family and we are sure you’ll feel right at home.
